Genetics of stripe rust resistance in a common wheat landrace Aus27492 and its transfer to modern wheat cultivars

چکیده

The development of resistant cultivars is a preferred way to manage the wheat rust pathogens. Successful breeding relies on continuous discovery, characterization and deployment genetically diverse resistance sources. This investigation covers identification stripe (caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici) carried pre-Green Revolution genotype, Aus27492, from France its transfer modern backgrounds. Genetic analysis using an F3 population derived cross Aus27492 with susceptible parent ‘Avocet S’ indicated digenic inheritance all stage resistance. underlying genes were tentatively named YrAW6 YrAW7 these loci located in long arms chromosomes 2B 5A, respectively, through Illumina iSelect 90 K Infinium SNP genotyping array-based bulked segregant (BSA). While was shown be same as previously described gene Yr34 based pathotypic specificity, appears represent new locus. To take results laboratory farmers’ fields, derivatives Australian ‘Emu Rock’, ‘Mace’ ‘Suntop’ delivered wheat-breeding companies for use donor

Mapping genes for resistance to stripe rust in spring wheat landrace PI 480035

Stripe rust caused by Puccinia striiformis Westend. f. sp. tritici Erikks. is an economically important disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Hexaploid spring wheat landrace PI 480035 was highly resistant to stripe rust in the field in Washington during 2011 and 2012. The objective of this research was to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) for stripe rust resistance in PI 480035. A sprin...

Genetic analysis and molecular mapping of wheat genes conferring resistance to the wheat stripe rust and barley stripe rust pathogens.

ABSTRACT Stripe rust is one of the most important diseases of wheat and barley worldwide. On wheat it is caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici and on barley by P. striiformis f. sp. hordei Most wheat genotypes are resistant to P. striiformis f. sp. hordei and most barley genotypes are resistant to P. striiformis f. sp. tritici. To determine the genetics of resistance in wheat to P. stri...

Physical Localization of a Locus from Agropyron cristatum Conferring Resistance to Stripe Rust in Common Wheat

Stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is one of the most destructive diseases of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) worldwide. Agropyron cristatum (L.) Gaertn. (2n = 28, PPPP), one of the wild relatives of wheat, exhibits resistance to stripe rust. In this study, wheat-A. cristatum 6P disomic addition line 4844-12 also exhibited resistance to stripe rust. To identify the s...

TaARPC3, Contributes to Wheat Resistance against the Stripe Rust Fungus

The actin cytoskeleton participates in numerous cellular processes, including less-characterized processes, such as nuclear organization, chromatin remodeling, transcription, and signal transduction. As a key regulator of actin cytoskeletal dynamics, the actin related protein 2/3 complex (Arp2/3 complex) controls multiple developmental processes in a variety of tissues and cell types. To date, ...

Genetics of leaf rust resistance in spring wheat cultivars alsen and norm.

ABSTRACT Alsen is a recently released spring wheat cultivar that has been widely grown in the United States because it has resistance to Fusarium head blight and leaf rust caused by Puccinia triticina. Norm is a high yielding wheat cultivar that has been very resistant to leaf rust since it was released. Alsen and Norm were genetically examined to determine the number and identity of the leaf r...
